Merry Christmas!

Good ol' Santa did his thing, complete with pesky bows.

Somehow he knew just what to get to make everyone happy.

Stomachs were stuffed to bursting point.

Games were played and presents tested.
Though poor Barbie may have got a little more than she bargained for. Next year maybe a GI Joe.

Hope you had a good one friends. Roll on another year!

Mini Christmas Mosaics

We found the inspiration for today's activity here and I've been stashing away bottle top lids for a few weeks now. Sienna and I lay on the floor and sorted Christmas coloured beads out of our big bead bag. Then it was time to break out the big guns...hubby's drill!

After I had drilled holes in the lids, threaded them and filled them with tile grout. Then the girls went for it.

Stained Glass Biscuits

These are one of my favourite Christmas baking things. I just love how the lollies melt into the biscuits and then look all pretty when you hold them up to the light. Sienna helped me bake a batch today, which entitled her to eat them all, she thought. She was a little miffed to find she had to share them :)

Creating Carolers - A pictorial

Christmas Collage

My girls like nothing more than to print out, cut out, stick on, (make a GIANT mess). They have boxes of old magazines and know their way around Google images, and are always making collages of some kind. So I decided we would make a Christmas one. They picked out the pics while Sienna and I constructed the collage tree, and then they set to work decorating it.

Chocolate Dipping Spoons

Yesterday's craft I found over here. My girls are big hot chocolate fans (though Maddie drinks coffee), even in the summer, so I thought these would be fun. I guess ours weren't as 'perfect' as the ones from that blog, but we had a lot of fun making them, and I think they look pretty awesome.

They even made me a couple :)
A lot of the time we make things which the kids like but this was one that they LOVED, especially the finished product.

The Word Party

Loving words clutch crimson roses,
Rude words sniff and pick their noses,
Sly words come dressed as foxes,
Short words stand on cardboard boxes,
Common words tell jokes and gabble,
Complicated words play Scrabble,
Swear words stamp around and shout,
Hard words stare eachother out,
Foreign words look lost and shrug,
Careless words trip on the rug,
Long words slouch with stooping shoulders,
Code words carry secret folders,
Silly words flick rubber bands,
Hyphenated words hold hands,
Strong words show off, bending metal,
Sweet words call each other 'petal',
Small words yawn and suck their thumbs,
Till at last the morning comes,
Kind words give out farewell posies....
Snap! The dictionary closes.
