The Trinket Box

This morning little bear staggered out of bed, trawling blankey along behind her, and greeted me with 'Can we do the box now?' The box was a present from Nana, originally she sent Denver one for her birthday last week. Well, that wouldn't do at all. Didn't Nana know that Sienna wanted a box? NEEDED a box? Nana got right onto it as all good Nana's do, and lo and behold yesterday a package arrived. It's a kitset type of activity. You add a little water to the enclosed plaster of paris, mix it up, pour it into the mold and leave it to harden overnight. Sienna wasted no time hitting the paints this morning.

She spent ages decorating the bottom (yes, the only bit you don't see, lol).

She wanted the interior to be yellow 'like sunshine, but not hot like sunshine.'

She was very pleased with the final product, now sitting full of her precious jewelery.

Aww, little bear. I love her bling, her tousled hair, blue nailed, earth-child hippyness. And of course, her creativity. Big smile here, too. : )

I have to say, seeing that adorableness almost makes me want to reconsider the "one child" decision...almost...

That's the kind of creative inspiration I aspire to--the kind that gets you hopping out of bed in the morning to have at it--wonderful!!

The Word Party

Loving words clutch crimson roses,
Rude words sniff and pick their noses,
Sly words come dressed as foxes,
Short words stand on cardboard boxes,
Common words tell jokes and gabble,
Complicated words play Scrabble,
Swear words stamp around and shout,
Hard words stare eachother out,
Foreign words look lost and shrug,
Careless words trip on the rug,
Long words slouch with stooping shoulders,
Code words carry secret folders,
Silly words flick rubber bands,
Hyphenated words hold hands,
Strong words show off, bending metal,
Sweet words call each other 'petal',
Small words yawn and suck their thumbs,
Till at last the morning comes,
Kind words give out farewell posies....
Snap! The dictionary closes.
