Gingerbread Men

I saw these in the supermarket on Sunday and thought they looked fun. I'm not a huge ginger fan, so usually when we make these type of biscuits we do shortbread. The recipe is easy, and they even give you a cookie cutter, but only one colour (white) icing, so we used our other icing gels.

Kyla decided to make a Justin Bieber one (of course).

Denver and Sienna just had loads of fun decorating, and Madi made a Sue Sylvester cookie.
(Notice red tracksuit, white trim)

Oh, and the eating of course!!!

Fun! I don't really like the flavour of gingerbread men, but they are such fun to make! I've used quite a few of the Green's packet mixes but haven't seen those ones - may have to try them. I love the Justin Beiber gingerbread man, how gorgeous!

Oh yum! And I'm impressed--I fail miserably with the roll out/cut out cookies! They're my kind of kids--doing their own take on the gingerbread man thing!!

The Word Party

Loving words clutch crimson roses,
Rude words sniff and pick their noses,
Sly words come dressed as foxes,
Short words stand on cardboard boxes,
Common words tell jokes and gabble,
Complicated words play Scrabble,
Swear words stamp around and shout,
Hard words stare eachother out,
Foreign words look lost and shrug,
Careless words trip on the rug,
Long words slouch with stooping shoulders,
Code words carry secret folders,
Silly words flick rubber bands,
Hyphenated words hold hands,
Strong words show off, bending metal,
Sweet words call each other 'petal',
Small words yawn and suck their thumbs,
Till at last the morning comes,
Kind words give out farewell posies....
Snap! The dictionary closes.
