Stained Glass Biscuits

These are one of my favourite Christmas baking things. I just love how the lollies melt into the biscuits and then look all pretty when you hold them up to the light. Sienna helped me bake a batch today, which entitled her to eat them all, she thought. She was a little miffed to find she had to share them :)

The cookies are beautiful, but nothing is better than the look of the child who helped make them.

I've always wanted to try these--are they hard to make? So lovely, that daughter of yours...and the cookies too!!!

Our cat likes these too. Joe made some last week and there was one left which I kept for his dad. I put it in a sealed plastic bag on the work surface whilst we went out. When we came back the cat has ripped open the bag and eaten the biscuit, including the lolly centre. So watch out - yours might not be safe even though you are on the other side of the world!

Thanks Debra.
Easy peasy Karen. A basic cookie/biscuit recipe, roll out, shape with cutters, poke a hole in the middle. Bake for about 5 mins, then pull out and pop in the lollies, then bake for another 5 mins. Done!
LOL Gina, reminds me of a cocker spaniel my mum used to have, he used to go to great lengths for anything edible!

The Word Party

Loving words clutch crimson roses,
Rude words sniff and pick their noses,
Sly words come dressed as foxes,
Short words stand on cardboard boxes,
Common words tell jokes and gabble,
Complicated words play Scrabble,
Swear words stamp around and shout,
Hard words stare eachother out,
Foreign words look lost and shrug,
Careless words trip on the rug,
Long words slouch with stooping shoulders,
Code words carry secret folders,
Silly words flick rubber bands,
Hyphenated words hold hands,
Strong words show off, bending metal,
Sweet words call each other 'petal',
Small words yawn and suck their thumbs,
Till at last the morning comes,
Kind words give out farewell posies....
Snap! The dictionary closes.
